An alarm clock is a tiny despot that mercilessly slays the enemy called sleep with its bell chimes. It attacks the drowsiness lurking in the darkness, stripping away human free will before dawn. Symbolizing days governed not by choice but by malfunctions and obsessive alarm compulsion. With morning hatred, it repeats its sermon in tone, forcing one to decide whether to rise or slump back into oblivion. Its sole purpose is to 'wake you,' yet for most, it is a form of torture.
