Clarification is a social ritual that exposes the lurking beast of ambiguity and forcibly converges discussion points. In corporate boardrooms, it is paraded as the signboard of an agenda while actually functioning as a magical incantation that prolongs debates. By uttering the word "clarification," participants legitimize intellectual paralysis and gain the right to diffuse responsibility.
