An aphorism is a word grenade that simultaneously pierces vanity and insecurity in a single line. Donning the mask of truth, it often serves as a decoration to conceal the speaker’s own self-interest and vanity. If the user intends to expose society’s absurdities, the audience unwittingly receives an invitation to self-loathing.
