#Balance

Middle Way

The Middle Way is the spectator’s seat at the center of a ring where two extremes clash, never crowned champion. It is the grand strategist who despises both sides while quietly collecting tribute from each. A testament to speaking ideals without ever acting on them.

moderation

Moderation is the twin of indolence wearing the mask of restraint, a universal silence that seals the lips of the most enraged. It serves as humanity’s safest escape hatch to avoid the terror of making choices. While mocking extremes, it glorifies one’s own blandness as a peculiar virtue. It admonishes excess even as it sanctifies complacency. In curbing indulgence, it erects the mightiest bulwark for moral self-justification.

power balance

Power balance is the stage device that keeps opposing forces from crushing each other while staging a pretence of peace. The powerful tighten or loosen its screws to confirm their relevance, and the common folk walk its tightrope of invisible constraints. When balance shatters, cheers and cries ring out in unison, and when restored everyone breathes a collective sigh of relief. It resembles a social dance in an invisible cage where everyone holds their breath. Is this the proof of peace or a fragile illusion on the verge of collapse?

proportion

Proportion is the socially acceptable excuse for aesthetics, the polite lie bridging the gap between dimensions and confidence. The more one chases the perfect ratio, the more opportunities arise to critique someone else’s measurements. The so-called golden ratio is merely a marketing ploy dressed in Greek letters. Designers preach "proper proportions" while actually following the latest trend equation. In everyday life, it’s the futile ritual of weighing your self-esteem against a clothing size chart.

wholeness

Wholeness is the patchwork of mind that forcibly stitches disparate fragments into a supposedly flawless unity. It is a self-indulgent ritual where one proudly proclaims 'all things are connected' while willfully ignoring the glaring contradictions in reality. In pursuit of wholeness, many become wordsmiths of deception, oversimplifying the world's complexity to maintain a comforting narrative. Ultimately, they drown in the euphoria of omnipotence, oblivious to the narrowness of their own perspective.

yang

Yang is the embodiment of excessive self-assertion, driven by the fear of darkness and the compulsion to banish any shadow. To proclaim its own brilliance, it tramples upon the shadows of others without hesitation. Beneath its glare lies a cruelty that denies all that is dark. Ultimately, it is a tyrant of dualism, seeking dominance while forgetting balance.

yin

Yin is the backstage traitor of light, a side of existence eager to boast its presence in the shadows. It quietly harbors resentment to make the bright parts possible, refusing to share any credit. Though skilled in hiding, it often becomes the perfect scapegoat. People shun yin, yet without this shadowy partner, light would be free to reign unchecked.
