Blood pressure is the futile measure of the shockwaves sent out by the tyrant known as the heart through veins and arteries. We are browbeaten into measuring it regularly or suffer unspecified consequences no one can articulate. Obeying the so-called normal range binds us in an endless cycle of prescriptions and check-ups. This timid despot rages at a cup of coffee and is pacified by a handful of supplements. To lower it, we are lured into the labyrinth of self-management, a trap masquerading as health care.
