An encore career is the second act life, summoned back on stage just as the curtain falls on retirement. It lauds self-actualization and security while secretly piling on fresh responsibilities and stress. At seminar halls, glowing success stories are performed, yet backstage reveals anxiety and exhaustion taking their curtain call. It proclaims freedom only to embed it in an endless series of scheduled performances. Everyone applauding this endless stage is both audience and performer.
