Channeling is the act of soliciting advice from someone—usually invisible—while expertly evading personal responsibility. Participants strain their ears for cosmic whispers, deceased luminaries, or the neighbor's cat spirit, framing it as spiritual enlightenment. It substitutes one's own judgment with ambiguous mumblings, occasionally producing prophecies that quiet the room more effectively than any moderator. The deeper the belief, the lighter the accountability; the deeper the skepticism, the more suspicious books appear on your coffee table. It is, furthermore, an ingenious tactic for taking credit without any of the work.
