Macro photography is the art of magnifying tiny worlds to boast one's own vanity. Subjects are cropped as if to satisfy anatomical curiosity, from the legs of insects to the insides of water droplets. In pursuit of visual pleasure, backgrounds and context are mercilessly discarded. Through extreme close-ups, both living and non-living entities are turned into spectacles, revealing a distorted reality.
