“Never have I ever” is the anguished cry of a soul desperate to conceal its guilt. By declaring one’s untainted innocence, one simultaneously invites curiosity and regret to dance in the shadows. Uttered as a spell of self-justification, it becomes the easiest ruse to deceive onlookers.
