#Distributed

distributed team

A distributed team is today’s social experiment partitioning coworkers by geography to excuse missed meetings and postpone feedback behind time zone veils. Voices travel through Zoom audio channels, and emotions convey via emojis and ghosted read receipts. The misunderstandings born of invisibility and the deluge of Slack pings are hailed as proof of cohesion. Team-building becomes a mandatory entertainment called virtual happy hour, where RSVP declines count as unspoken declarations of war. Ultimately, the greatest output of a distributed team is the very sparks that would never ignite when sharing the same office.

edge computing

A technology devised by those exasperated with sending data across the vast ocean called the cloud to the edge of the internet. A tiny universe near devices that proudly nod, saying Process it here for faster results. Quietly praised in success, yet cursed with Why isn’t the edge working?! at every failure. Hailed as a savior in IoT presentations, in reality it drifts like a small boat in a sea of network gear. Yet it continues to process data in the shadows as an unfinished hero today.
