Extremism is the grandiose assertion that covers one’s insecurity and emptiness with hysterical slogans, trampling on others’ freedoms and social order. Bathed in a cocktail of fanatic fervor, it dissolves reason and reality alike, ultimately drowning in its own destructive impulse. The louder its echo, the farther it drifts from actual solutions, ironically leaving real remedies behind. In public it’s treated as the enemy, in private gatherings its banner of “justice” waves frantically. In essence, extremism is the paradoxical entertainment born from the synergy of self-love and the denial of others.

Radicalization is the alchemical process that transforms a reasoned debate into a live-streamed conflagration. One moment a person is a moderate; the next they are forged into a zealot by the storm of social media and the applause of anonymous crowds. Dissenting views are, quite literally, burned at the virtual stake, and one's own righteousness becomes the irrefutable law of the universe. Strangely, those warmed by this fervor lose all capacity for nuance, and diversity of thought is chained to the altar of conviction.
