delusion

Delusion is a mental theater meticulously ignoring the harshness of reality to cast oneself as the unwritten hero. Every character is you, the audience is one, and yet you feel the roar of applause. Critical thinking waits outside the door, popcorn in hand, as the curtain rises with carefree delight. The more impossible the scenario, the grander the spectacle, striving endlessly to bridge the gap with reality. It is the whimsical savior that elegantly covers social misfortune as long as the show goes on backstage.

dream

A dream is a nocturnal escape labeled sleep, cynically streaming irresponsible desires in an endless show without touching reality. It pretends to rest the body while mercilessly wringing the spirit, only to vanish by morning. A nightly dual agreement that invites both self-affirmation and disappointment simultaneously. The spectator (dreamer) is easily toyed by the performer (wish).

dream

A dream is the brain’s theatrical performance sold during slumber, a hall of illusions that bills you in regret at dawn. It stages grand ideals while ignoring real-world consequences. Everyone gets a starring role, yet anyone may rewrite the script without permission. It’s a psychological catharsis device bundled with a good night’s sleep. Sometimes mistaken for a trailer of the future, it can trigger misunderstandings with costly consequences.

hopeful imagination

Hopeful imagination is the noble illusion of rewriting tomorrow’s script into an ideal narrative, politely sidelining the harshness of reality. We wield it as a shield to conceal our own laziness. Yet these fanciful scenarios are as delicate as crystal, shattering the moment they collide with the boulder of facts. Before long, we find ourselves imprisoned in the very reality we wished away. Ironically, the brighter the envisioned future, the sharper the contrast with the mundane present.
