A funeral is a social gathering disguised as a solemn farewell, where the living showcase their bloodlines and social status under the pretense of mourning. The black-clad procession, ostensibly a mark of respect, is in fact a stage for self-presentation. Eulogies masquerade as expressions of love while serving as impromptu performance art. In the end, no amount of effort or expense brings true solace, leaving behind only a hollow void.
