A SMART goal is a five-letter incantation imprisoning one's ambitions in the dungeon of corporate efficiency. Each chant of specific and measurable sacrifices freedom at the altar of metrics. Cloaked in noble words like achievable and relevant, it distracts from genuine purpose. Attaching a deadline manufactures panic, turning calendar alerts into modern prophets of guilt.

A vision board is the self-help fad decoration that uses magazine cutouts and stickers to stage indulgent self-satisfaction without any real effort. Displayed on a desk corner, it often serves as a coaster for spilled coffee and collects dust rather than inspiring action. Believed to boost motivation each morning, it actually provides little more than an excuse for another coffee break and scrolling through your phone. Visualizing the gap between dreams and reality is supposed to bring comfort, but ironically acts more like a mirror exposing unfulfilled plans. Eventually it retreats to the back of the closet, only to resurface covered in dust as a prop for future excuses.

A vision board is a so-called art piece created by haphazardly pasting magazine clippings and photos to visualize an ideal future. It sits elegantly beside your desk while conveniently ignoring any actual action plans. It symbolizes laziness that prefers the satisfaction of sticking things over the effort of doing. The future is set in stone on the board, while real life continues, unchanged.
