Hopeful imagination is the noble illusion of rewriting tomorrow’s script into an ideal narrative, politely sidelining the harshness of reality. We wield it as a shield to conceal our own laziness. Yet these fanciful scenarios are as delicate as crystal, shattering the moment they collide with the boulder of facts. Before long, we find ourselves imprisoned in the very reality we wished away.
