#Internet

phishing

Phishing is the art of the digital angler who lures in unsuspecting victims with seemingly innocuous emails and websites, hooking their attention and reeling in their assets. The prey stops thinking like a mouse entranced by cheese, frozen in a moment of cyber paranoia. Deceptive links act as chains of trust, binding users until their bank accounts are laid bare. While warnings about protection are loudly proclaimed, scammers continuously weave new webs of faux trust. Baited by credibility and robbed of confidence, users are coerced into giving trust again, an endless cycle performed every day.

satellite internet

The grandiose apparatus beaming signals from orbit peddles the illusion of “connectivity everywhere” to starry-eyed consumers. In practice, it bows to weather tantrums and shackles users with paperwork as intricate as its pricing plans. Speeds hover between ideal and reality, and latency becomes a modern cosmic torture. Only a few masters can exploit it, while others resort to scrounging terrestrial Wi-Fi for salvation.

social media

Social media is a stage machine that proclaims free speech for all while enslaving hearts to a single "like". It simultaneously produces swamps of anonymous abuse and approval cravings, turning the myth of altruistic exchange into a content factory. Advertisers and algorithms seize the reins, and users are caught in a relentless spiral of consumption and creation. While prying into someone’s privacy, the masses scroll on, unaware they dance on a palm. The promise of democratized information and self-actualization swiftly mutates into like-chasing, ending in a drift across an empty sea of engagement.

trolling

Trolling is the cunning predation of social attention, stirring chaos in the ocean of information. On the stage of social media it lights the pyres of reason’s corpse, summoning outrage and ridicule in equal measure. It drifts between righteousness and apathy, brandishing the shield of "just kidding" as a get-out-of-jail-free card. A final weapon to mask the void of self-worth with the turmoil of others.

W3C

A self-proclaimed guardian of web standards that in reality strangles developers with countless specification drafts in a bureaucratic org. Its main activity is consensus-building games at long conference tables, and the only conclusion always leads to "another workshop". Some praise the latest specs, others are utterly exhausted, yet none can quit the strange bond they’ve formed.

wiki

A wiki is a chaotic theater of knowledge where everyone is permitted an anonymous pen. Like a masked ball blending truth and falsehood, altruism and malice dance in unison. Updates happen instantly, verification can wait, and trust is measured by page views. It is a gladiatorial arena of debate disguised as an encyclopedia. Users proudly proclaim "source: wiki" while rarely checking who wrote it.
