A milestone is a ceremonial stamp used to artificially imbue life with meaning. Everyone craves emotion at that moment, yet in reality they merely romanticize the past and defer the future. Society celebrates milestones to prop up self-esteem, losing sight of genuine progress. Ultimately, it is nothing more than a self-satisfaction device disguised as a waypoint.
