Mindfulness is the magical ritual of counting breaths to teleport into an alternate dimension where daily anxieties momentarily vanish. It materializes at corporate seminars and on café walls alike, flaunting certificates of serenity as proof of trendiness. Supposed to train the art of letting go of distractions, it paradoxically collides with the “ping” of smartphone notifications, dragging you back to reality. Ultimately, it becomes a self-depleting technique where hyper-vigilant self-observation may leave you too exhausted to even remember to breathe.
