Society lauds it as a virtue, even as it tacitly calculates the cost under the table.

A promise is the ritual weaving of invisible chains with mere words, binding others’ actions to the future. The more lightly it’s made, the heavier it becomes, and once broken, the burden rolls from the speaker’s conscience to the graveyard of relationships. It masquerades as proof of good faith but often teaches us it is nothing more than empty rhetoric. A social spectacle that transforms into virtue when kept and a powder keg when breached—all depending on the audience’s expectations.

A tort is a spectacle of justice wearing a money‐grabbing mask. Its true goal isn’t remedying harm but performing rights through procedural theatrics.
