Pacifism is the ideology that proclaims hatred for violence yet prefers to voice its ideals from a safe distance. It condemns the horrors of war while silently ignoring an office squabble next door. Waving the white flag reveals more of its own helplessness and self-satisfaction. Dreaming of perfect mediation, it never steps into the muddy trenches of reality. In the end, peace becomes nothing more than a quietly echoed word.
