relativism

Relativism is the wondrous doctrine that all values and truths shapeshift according to perspective and circumstance. It proclaims its own absoluteness while generously “respecting” every other opinion as equally valid. Justice, morality, and universal norms dissolve like smoke when confronted by a clever opponent invoking “context.” It masquerades as the champion of truth-seeking even as it decrees nothing is binding without unanimous consent. Its true brilliance lies in the proud ambiguity of never revealing its own yardstick.

reliabilism

Reliabilism is the aristocratic shortcut for minimizing mental effort and avoiding rigorous verification of truth. Instead of examining evidence, it elevates the speaker’s title to the source of all justification. Far from a scientific attitude, it cloaks itself in the term “guarantee” to don the mantle of authority. In practice, genuine uncertainty is swallowed by quantified reassurance, binding society in invisible chains.

reliquary

A reliquary is the exalted container that houses fragments of saints’ bones, tattered fabric, and other dubious tokens of holiness, proudly displayed as tangible proof of the divine. After centuries of solemn veneration, it has become a dark mirror reflecting faith’s absurd reliance on dusty souvenirs, serving often as a jest among its keepers. Pilgrims kneel in reverence, depositing coins without a clue to the container’s actual contents. The ornate inscriptions that adorn it weave a tapestry of contradictions and pompous rhetoric, fulfilling its true function as a looking-glass of belief itself.

repentance

Repentance is the ritual of loudly confessing one’s misdeeds while simultaneously requesting a grace period for future sins. It is a festival of self-pity that never ends until the audience’s sympathy grants absolution. A sacred safety net of humanity that conjoins lip-service remorse with ongoing secret malice. Yet true atonement is merely the trigger for another cycle of confession. In this stagecraft of soul-cleansing drifts a bittersweet blend of craving forgiveness and indulging in self-admiration.

result

The result is a merciless verdict that shatters the hopes and efforts painstakingly built by individuals in an instant. Prayers to foresee the future and analyses to scrutinize the past are ultimately powerless before this cruel judgment. Everyone celebrates the result and forgets the process—but is the ‘end’ truly the only thing of value in this world?

resurrection

Resurrection is the arrogant stage trick of attempting a dramatic encore despite having faced the merciless finality of death. It promises to erase past failures and shame, duping spectators into granting renewed attention and sympathy. Celebrated socially as “atonement” or “miracle,” it often delivers nothing more than a rerun of the same tragic script.

reterritorialization

Reterritorialization, under the guise of reclaiming forgotten territory, is the act of repainting old power structures. In reality, it is an infinite loop of redrawing boundaries to perpetually redefine spaces. This ritual of demolition and reassembly resembles a game played by rulers lost in phantom lands. Each new proclamation of "reterritorialization" causes the map of the world to laugh as it is rewritten.

retreat

A silent retreat is a group escapist ritual where one amplifies the ceaseless inner chatter instead of transcribing it. It promises consciousness decluttering while participants trade their mundane desires for network deprival. Though called meditation, it often amounts to a silence endurance marathon. The facilitator’s stopwatch becomes the sole interaction, forcing attendees to live-comment their inner lives. In the end, everyone concludes they gained only silence and weighty emptiness—and signs up again in profound self-contradiction.

revelation

A revelation is the official announcement that a busy, omnipotent being hastily delivers to humanity. It is often strewn with vague metaphors and cryptic symbols, sparking endless debates over interpretation. Receivers scramble to find profound meaning, yet usually only quote it later as a means of self-interest. The most famous revelations in history are, in fact, tinted by retrospective alterations and political agendas. In short, a revelation appears meaningful, but ultimately serves as a warped mirror reflecting human desire and laziness.

reverence

Reverence is the ritualistic ceremony of confronting one’s own insignificance before something greater. No matter how sublime the object, there lurks behind it the mundane motive of “Instagrammability” or self-indulgence. People profess reverence while using it as a tool to bolster their social status. True respect dwells in silence, and nothing rings more hollow than spoken reverence.

revival

Revival is the industrial magic of unearthing dusty faiths and fads to sell them as brand-new. The moment someone forgets a failure, the same incantation is recited to orchestrate fresh fervor. Nostalgia, wearing the mask of novelty, keeps spinning endlessly on the stage called the present.

rhizome

A rhizome is a structure without trunk or apex, like an underground root system, through which ideas and information diffuse in a non-hierarchical fashion. On the surface, organizations and communities appear orderly, but beneath them the rhizome writhes freely, linking nodes at will and defying control. It mocks reason and authority, endlessly regenerating and connecting in ways that corrode the illusion of order from within. Celebrated in academic treatises, in practice it is dreaded as the root cause of confusion, leaving command chains and accountability floating in midair.
