A saint is one who proclaims forgiveness for all, while meticulously tallying others’ shortcomings. They preach humility and selflessness, yet monopolize praise at every opportunity. Elevated on a pedestal of virtue, they gaze down upon the masses, footnoting their own benevolence in the margins of history. They deposit their desires in the abbey of asceticism, retrieving validation from grateful followers. The world exists to offer them admiration, and they exist to bask in its shower of thanks.

The salt of the earth is a condiment of moral virtue dispensed under the lofty pretext of preventing societal decay. In reality, it masquerades as a self-appointed preservative for the collective taste, symbolizing a pretentious sacrifice. Often, while lamenting others’ corruption, it proudly flaunts its own salinity, constituting an extreme form of gustatory terrorism. Guardians of a sanctuary sometimes become proselytizers who uphold power over truth. It serves as armor for self-defense while paradoxically breeding its own captives.

Santosha is the artful gesture of gazing at what one already possesses, then ordering desire to stand down. Of course, this act collapses the moment a neighbor unveils a shinier toy. It sits at the paradoxical crossroads where true contentment can be both the enemy of ambition and the birthplace of inner peace. To sever the chains of longing only to weave fresh ones of comparison, it is the dual-edged sword of virtue. For some, a balm for the soul; for others, a convenient excuse to justify complacency.

Sapience is like a lavish costume designed to adorn one’s ignorance. Those who pontificate from pedestals often conceal the chaos raging in their minds. True bearers of sapience speak sparingly, yet their audience clamors for lengthy definitions. When asked “What is truth?” they invariably reply “That is your own question.” Ultimately, sapience is more adept at doubt than at thought—a social skill masquerading as intellect.

It parades its profundity while most minds cannot even digest a morsel.
