The exterior stands as a solemn stone edifice, but inside it can resemble nothing more than an upscale social club. Ultimately, whether worshippers seek divine grace or merely a cozy community, the church itself remains silent on the matter.

A form of argument that mistakes returning to its own starting point for genuine progress. When asked for evidence, it cheerfully replies, “It’s true because it’s true,” thus trapping interlocutors in a never-ending circular chase. It promises eternal proof to those who cannot escape its self-referential maze. The single loop of reason only ends when the question swallows itself. Sincerity of logic is guaranteed, provided you never break free.

Circular reasoning is a logical exercise in which one uses the conclusion as its own premise to prove itself. Ultimately, it is the thought bulldozer that claims 'if the story holds together, who cares about the guts?'

Coherentism is the school that proclaims the absence of gaps in the web of beliefs as the mark of truth. Even when new evidence appears, its adherents busily reinforce existing knots rather than rewoven the mesh. For them, contradictions are nightmares to be exorcised, not clues to be followed. They elevate preserving one’s own consistency over the pursuit of truth, ultimately retreating into the fortress of their convictions.

Because it’s unseen, it’s perfectly handy: any inexplicable phenomenon can always be blamed on the collective unconscious, providing the simplest possible explanation.

Commentary is the alchemy of scholars that parasitically latches onto an original text, rewriting its flesh into their own thoughts. It promises readers enlightenment and authors a fresh reassessment, yet in practice it scatters the orator’s ego and bewilderment. Sometimes a humble annotation overshadows the main text, spawning a new authority. Claiming to break the shell of words, it ultimately forges yet another cage.
