It speaks lofty fairness while flipping loyalties faster than a secret ballot. From a village water supply to the national budget, all hinges on the pocketbook of the electoral district. Once the election ends, the favors vanish like morning mist.

Constitutional law is the discipline of polishing the fundamental rules of a nation like gemstones, while studying the trinkets that are always discarded in real power struggles. Scholars loudly proclaim their paper ideals but ignore the urgent calls from practitioners. As they dissect every clause in detail, they inevitably become craftsmen battling strings of text. In debates, they stand by as perpetual reserves, ready to unleash the magic phrase “the constitution doesn’t say anything” at critical moments. It is the science of grandiloquent silence wielded through footnotes.

Food security is the sovereign right of governments to fret endlessly over the grains they can’t grow, while lecturing trade partners and soothing domestic panic with empty slogans. In emergencies, it conjures sudden patriotism and begs consumers, "Please don't hoard!" It creates reassurance purely through statistics and propaganda, its reality being covert patrols of supermarket aisles. Though meant to sustain life, it often doubles as a blank check for political maneuvering.

Oligarchy is a political structure where a handful of elites perched atop the mountain of power control the whole. In name, fairness and participation are trumpeted, but in reality it is a closed club favoring insiders. The voices of the masses are mere decorations, while the true legislative mechanism is the reins pulled in the shadows. Ironically, the more it proclaims 'for everyone,' the sharper the contradictions of rule by the few become.

The proportional representation system boasts of dividing every voter's voice equally, yet it often results in a proliferation of minor parties and legislative fragmentation. Voters inscribe their ideals onto ballots while actual seat allocation is left to party calculations and backroom deals. As a result, the average citizen spends their days wondering if their lone vote truly made it through. A cynical contraption where the allure of perfect democracy coexists with perpetual doubt.

Public choice is the grand festival of democracy where everyone proclaims their desires while shirking the burden of fulfilling them. Behind the noble guise of aggregating individual self-interest for the public good, vote trades, subsidies, and backroom deals dance wildly. Economics and politics enter a clandestine affair, holding an auction of souls at the voting booth marketplace. The theory is elegant, reality is warped by rent-seekers. In the end, all that remains is a chaos no one truly controls.
