A relic is an object venerated as part of a saint’s body or belongings, whose sanctity often scales with the fervor of its followers. A reliquary is the exalted container that houses fragments of saints’ bones, tattered fabric, and other dubious tokens of holiness, proudly displayed as tangible proof of the divine.
