Autonomy is the act of proclaiming respect for one's own will while actually wandering in anticipation of others' approval. It comes with the privilege of invoking agency and then delegating final decision power to those around you. Celebrated as freedom, it functions as a get-out-of-jail-free card to blame others for any responsibility. At its core lies the option of 'being autonomous only when it's convenient,' indulging in irresponsible choice-making. Often, this capricious self-determination ends up wasting the efforts of others.
