landscape photography
Landscape photography is the grand delusion of camera and lens, trying to replicate a nonexistent perfection of nature. On location, however, what actually awaits is muddy boots buffeted by wind and strangers' tripods masquerading as fine decor. The photographer, breathless, insists 'This is the real summit,' while chasing that one Instagram frame in which reality vanishes. Mountains and seas stand silent, dutifully aligning themselves in the frame only to be reborn with digital filters. The final image is the pinnacle of aesthetic artifice, masterfully concealing the tiresome inconveniences of the real world.
