discrimination
Discrimination is the noble ritual of bestowing one’s own rightness upon society while collectively looking down on others. It delivers judgment based solely on arbitrary attributes and derives satisfaction from affixing countless labels. Though never called fairness, it serves as the easiest defense mechanism to preserve one’s own status. Governments and corporations sometimes adopt it under the guise of policy, descending as though cloaked in goodwill. Peering into the mirror, practitioners fail to notice they are the ones being carved smaller by their own actions.
