Special effects are the pyrotechnic glue that smears over narrative gaps with lasers, explosions, and floods of light, dazzling the audience’s gaze. Filmmakers boast that they’ve "captivated with visuals," but secretly pray it masks a patchwork script. No amount of CGI layering can prevent the discerning viewer from spotting the seams and rapidly digesting the fiction’s hollow center. At the end, the audience squints, stepping back into reality, seeking the true magic beyond the spectacle.
