A ritual where intangible performers on a stage called cyberspace measure their audience’s presence by the number of “likes.” Sound and lighting hinge on the mood of the network connection, and when it’s over only the server’s deep sigh remains. Participants clad in pajamas on their sofas bask in a strange euphoria, confusing real solidarity with virtual “togetherness.” Eventually the only witnesses left are forgotten recordings, lingering as faint testimonies.
