Body & Mind

Description

Puberty is the ritual wherein innocent children knock on adulthood’s door just as a mutiny of confused hormones erupts. Facing a stranger in the mirror, they perform a symphony of self-loathing in harmony with voice cracks. Parental advice goes in one ear and out the other, while a single careless remark from peers sends their emotions into chaotic overdrive. Those who ultimately survive are granted, ironically, a certificate called ‘maturity’.

Definitions

  • A deluge of hormones suddenly assaulting an unprepared mind.
  • A spellbinding period when the reflection in the mirror looks both friend and foe.
  • An irreversible rite of passage where parental wisdom becomes utterly useless.
  • An emotional roller coaster where friendship and betrayal run on parallel tracks.
  • A phase of eloquent mouths riding on sandcastle-level judgment skills.
  • An internal civil war fought between self-esteem and shame for sovereignty.
  • A living experiment churning out acne and trembling voices in excess.
  • A voyage that ultimately runs aground at the harbor called ‘adulthood.’
  • A time travel encounter that could knock you unconscious with embarrassment upon meeting your past self.
  • A discordant symphony of body and mind tracing a record-breaking unbalanced growth curve.
